Tekplan Solutions Georgia LLC, Delta Controls, and BACnet Protocol: a
winning combination!
Tekplan
integrates BACnet™ protocol with Delta’s
HVAC, card access and lighting controls to provide our customers a single
seat operations management through Delta’s powerful Operator Workstation
Software and Web interfaces.
BACnet™ protocol,
recognized as an international standard, was developed by the American
Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE),
as a way of standardizing communications devices and systems from various
manufacturers.

Intelligent Systems are truly
intelligent
with BACnet
as control products made by different
manufacturers can be integrated into a single uniform system.
Temperature, lighting, life safety, access, security, power, vertical
transportation and other building system control devices interoperate saving
facility owners and managers costly custom interfaces for supervising
packaged HVAC equipment, as well as integrating diverse building systems
such as HVAC, lighting, fire, elevators, electrical services, etc.
Thanks to BACnet,
Tekplan's
customers don't have to be locked into one manufacturer. As technology
changes, building systems can be updated or expanded without replacing the
entire system. Unlike open protocols where underlying hardware and LAN
technologies are controlled by a few manufacturers, BACnet independently
supports multiple LAN technologies, including the Internet. BACnet
evolves as technology evolves. And since BACnet can't be changed
without public review, users have a say in any changes that may affect the
protocol.

When Tekplan
installs Delta™ controls in your facility, we are installing products
by one of the founding members of the BACnet Manufacturers Association
(BMA). The mission of this non-profit organization is to
encourage the successful use of BACnet in building automation systems
through interoperability, testing, educational programs, promotional
activities and coordination with various BACnet organizations. Delta
actively participates in all aspects of the BMA and maintains a
representative on the BMA board of directors.

Delta's ™ Role in the BACnet™ Testing Laboratory
The BACnet Testing
Laboratory (BTL)
was formed by the BMA to improve BACnet interoperability through
extensive BACnet compliance testing at the BTL authorized test laboratory as
part of a product conformance certification and listing program.
Successfully tested products are listed on BMA’s website and are authorized
to carry the BTL logo mark as proof of compliance.
Since a Delta
representative is co-chair for this group, Delta plays an important
role in the BTL working group, which is responsible for implementing the
product conformance certification and listing program based upon ASHRAE
Standard 135.1.
